Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

Maintaining the momentum of quality consciousness is crucial in institute. Internal Quality Assurance Cell is conceived as a mechanism to build and ensure a quality culture at the institutional level. The internal quality assurance mechanism of AIMS is called as “Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)”.

Objectives of IQAC at AIMS:

a) To attain an increased level of transparency, quality and focus on institutional functioning.

b) To maintain records of all activities with focus on quality enrichment.

c) To ensure enhancement and integration among the various activities.

d) To provide a sound basis for decision-making.

e) To arrange feedback from stakeholders.

f) To promote workshops and seminars for academic excellence.

Criteria 1: Curriculum Design and Development

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at AIMS facilitates quality enhancement in curriculum design and development by ensuring academic relevance, stakeholder responsiveness, and outcome-based learning. While following the curriculum prescribed by the affiliating university, IQAC promotes value addition and innovation in curriculum delivery.

Objectives of IQAC – Criteria 1

a) To support effective implementation of the university curriculum through quality monitoring and academic planning.

b) To encourage departments to design and offer add-on, certificate, and skill-based courses to enhance employability and lifelong learning.

c) To promote interdisciplinary, experiential, and value-based learning through projects, internships, fieldwork, case studies, and community engagement.

d) To facilitate the integration of ICT-enabled teaching, innovative pedagogical practices, and outcome-based education in curriculum delivery.

e) To obtain and analyse feedback from stakeholders (students, alumni, employers, parents, and faculty) for continuous curriculum enrichment.

f) To encourage faculty participation in Boards of Studies, syllabus revision committees, and academic bodies of the affiliating university.

g) To ensure alignment of the curriculum with Program Outcomes (POs), Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs), and Course Outcomes (COs).

Criteria 2: Faculty Resources

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at AIMS ensures the availability of competent, qualified, and experienced faculty to maintain academic excellence and institutional growth. Faculty quality is a critical determinant of curriculum delivery, student engagement, research output, and overall institutional performance.

IQAC continuously monitors recruitment processes, faculty qualifications, cadre distribution, and teaching experience to maintain transparency, adequacy, and compliance with statutory norms.

Objectives of IQAC – Criteria 2

a) To ensure a transparent and merit-based recruitment process in accordance with University and statutory guidelines.

b) To maintain an optimal student–teacher ratio and ensure adequate full-time faculty strength.

c) To monitor cadre-wise faculty distribution (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor, Professor of Practice) as per sanctioned norms.

d) To encourage and promote faculty members to acquire doctoral degrees (Ph.D.) and higher qualifications.

e) To enhance the academic and teaching experience of faculty through continuous professional development.

f) To maintain updated records of faculty appointment details, qualifications, and experience certificates for quality assurance and compliance.

g) To support faculty participation in research, academic bodies, curriculum development, and professional forums to strengthen institutional quality.

Criteria 3: Physical Infrastructure

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at AIMS ensures the development, maintenance, and optimal utilisation of physical infrastructure and learning resources to support effective teaching–learning, research, innovation, and student well-being. IQAC monitors infrastructure adequacy in line with statutory requirements and promotes continuous upgradation to meet academic, technological, and inclusivity standards.

The institution provides well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, library resources, IT facilities, research infrastructure, and inclusive amenities to create a conducive learning environment.

Objectives of IQAC – Criteria 3

a) To ensure the availability and optimal utilisation of adequate physical infrastructure including classrooms, laboratories, seminar halls, auditorium, library, sports facilities, and other essential amenities as per regulatory norms.

b) To promote continuous upgradation and maintenance of infrastructure to support quality teaching, learning, research, and extension activities.

c) To enhance learning resources through systematic investment in books, e-books, journals, digital databases, and other academic resources.

d) To strengthen research infrastructure by providing access to e-journals, plagiarism detection software, licensed statistical and discipline-specific software, and research laboratories.

e) To ensure robust IT infrastructure, including adequate internet bandwidth, computing facilities, virtual learning platforms, and ICT-enabled classrooms.

f) To promote a Divyangjan-friendly and barrier-free campus by providing ramps, lifts, accessible washrooms, signage, assistive technologies, and accessible digital platforms.

g) To encourage the establishment and effective use of innovation and incubation resources such as innovation labs, tinkering labs, and startup support facilities.

h) To ensure transparency and accountability by maintaining proper documentation, audited expenditure records, geo-tagged photographs, and statutory compliance reports related to infrastructure and learning resources.
