Our Legacy & Foundation

Maharashtra Cosmopolitan Education Society (M.C.E. Society) was established in 1948 by the Late Mr. Abdul Kadir Khan and other visionary co-founders, with the noble objective of providing modern education to the economically, educationally, and socially weaker sections of society.

As one of the oldest and most respected educational organizations in Pune, the M.C.E. Society has done pioneering work in the field of education. From a humble beginning of just four schools, the society has transformed Azam Campus into an outstanding educational complex.

Today, it hosts higher, medical, technical, and professional academic institutions in the fields of Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer Science, Law, Education, Pharmacy, Management Sciences, Architecture, Dental Sciences, Hospitality Studies, and Information Technology.

Trust & Registration Status

Society Act: Registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860.

Public Trust: Registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950.

Tax Exemption: Registered under section 12(a) of the Income Tax Act 1961 and exempted under section 80G by the Income Tax Commissioner, Pune.

National Recognition

The progress and development made by M.C.E. Society and Azam Campus has been highly lauded and recognized at the national level.

Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Literacy Award

The M.C.E. Society was awarded the first ever "Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Literacy Award" constituted by the Maulana Azad Education Foundation, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. This award was presented in recognition of Azam Campus being one of the best Minority Educational Campuses in India, serving as a source of inspiration and a role model nationwide.
