Allana Institute of Management Sciences, Pune has taken an Institutional Membership of Computer Society of India on 26th June 2010 which is a national association of computer professionals from industry and academics. The nominees of CSI from AIMS are Prof. Jawed Khan, Mrs. Mehdi Khundmir and Mr. M.M. Junaid.
Workshop on "Career Success"
Allana Institute of Management Sciences organized a two day workshop on Career Success for students on 12 and 13th of July 2010. The resource persons. Mr. Ranganathan and Ms. Malati (Corporate Trainers from SYMINDIA, Banglore) spoke on how to plan and work hard for achieving success, Principles of Maintaining success and making long term and short term goals etc. Prof. R. Ganesan, Director, AIMS also motivated the students to excel in life as a professionals.
Workshop on "Cluster Computing"
The workshop on "Creating High Computing facilities using clusters and their research avenues" was organized at Allana Institute of Management Sciences, Pune on 31st July 2010 in collaboration with Computer Society of India, Pune Chapter. During that one day workshop there were two lectures by research persons namely Prof. Rajashree Jain and Dr. H.S. Acharya the Treasurer of CSI from computer society of India and a live demo on "Increasing computational power : Parallel computing" by the research fellows. The students and the faculty members of AIMS were part of this workshop.
Guest Lecture on "Effective Covering Letter And Resume Writing"
A guest lecture was organized on 12th August, 2010 for MBA students. Ms. Farzana Contractor equipped with 13 years of corporate experience and a Black Belt in Six Sigma had engaged a lecture on "Effective Covering Letter And Resume Writing". She explained the do's and don'ts of the good resume writing.
Guest Lecture on "The Hero Lies In You"
A guest lecture was organized on 16th August, 2010 for MBA students. Mr. Dhirendra Parolkar with extensive business development and training experience in China and India has conducted a lecture on the topic "The Hero Lies In You". He spoke on the effective use of individual potential, qualities and skills.
The Induction Programme was organized for first year students on 16th to 18th August, 2010. The spokespersons during the programme were Mr. Tavvare who spoke on effective use of mind and how to release stress and Ms. Farzana Contractor gave a detailed view over SWOT Analysis as well as implemented it.
Director's Address
On 21st August, 2010, during the morning session, the students of first year enjoyed the games conducted by their seniors. They also got a chance to show their own talent. In the afternoon the students were addressed by the Director, Prof. R. Ganesan.
The Induction Program for MBA first year students for the academic year 2010-2011 was organized on 26th August, 2010 to 31st August, 2010.The program was inaugurated by the auspicious hands of Prof. R. Ganesan, Dr. Shaila Bootwala and Ms. Meenal.
Prof. R. Ganesan , director AIMS stressed that the industry needs the people who are able to speak logically and differently. He also spoke on the culture of AIMS. Dr. Shaila Bootwala Vice Principal, Abeda Inamdar Senior College illustrated the importance of creativity, innovation and thinking differently in her own style. Ms. Meenal , Production and Program Head for Radio One, stressed the need of soft skills , etiquettes, mannerism and cross cultural issues.
Interaction between Academia-Industry
National Institute of Personnel Managers (Pune Chapter) organized a Full day Workshop on 24th October, 2010 on the theme, "Interaction between Academia-Industry". Our MBA (HR) students attended the workshop. HR practicing managers deliberated on the topics such as Transformation of HR, War of Talent, Performance Management, and Effective Communication & Management of Grievances.
National Research Workshop.
Allana Institute of Management Sciences organized one day Research Methodology Workshop on 21st October, 2010. In the changing circumstances and scenario, the focus is on research, development and training; which was never before. The faculties as well as the students from the management are needed to contemplate on the challenges in the future and the solutions thereof with an in-depth insight.
Eminent academia, practicing researchers and catalyzing research advisors expressed their profound thoughts regarding innovation, ideation, invention, and its implementation inference in their illuminating and illustrative way of approach. Dr. Sivaraman, Mr. Rajpal, Dr. Nataranjan, Dr. Ranchod illuminated the audience.
Research precedes an indepth study encircling its breadth, length and depth. It requires a discerning ability and capability to visualize. Prof. R. Ganesan, Director - AIMS & Chief Mentor - PICME, in his lucid and humorous unique style threw the light on the reality in the research world. The program was well knit and applauded by the audience.
Forum For Business Ethics:
On 15 November 2010, Allana Institute Of Management Sciences; co-sponsored with Forum for Business Ethics; organized felicitation of Shri. Dajikaka Gedgil; 92 year old; young entrepreneur. He builds the empire of diversified businesses with decorous personal appearance, orderly speech, clear vision, profound thought, seeing outside into the core and movement centre to the issue.
The other person felicitated was Shri Phalnikar Vijay. His young son of 16 years expired. Despite this set back in his life; he devoted ,dedicated his life for upbringing 67 orphans and also running a home for old age. This selfless contribution to the society is without any grant from the government.
Prof. R. Ganesan; director felicitated them with shawl, sacred coconut and memento in a traditional spirit.
Guest Lecture on "Serendipity (Inadvertent Inventions)"
On 11th January, 2011 Mr. Max Babi a renowned Plasma Engineer, Global Jazz Music Critic, Innovator, Poet and Philosopher deliverd a lecture on "Serendipity (Inadvertent Inventions)". The lecture was informative and illustrative.
HR Students participated in Full-Day Workshop on "Future Professionals"
National institute of Personnel Management (Pune Chapter) organized a full day workshop on 24th October, 2010. The venue was Corporate Office of M/s Kirloskar Brothers Ltd., Baner, Pune – 411045. A Lecture Series on "Globalization and India – Is India Compatible?"
Allana Institute of Management Sciences under the able leadership of Prof. R. Ganesan, Director organized a unique lecture series on "Globalization and India – Is India Compatible" on 28 January, 2011. Eminent scholars, acclaimed personalities from all walks of life, thinkers and academicians from different disciplines enthusiastically participated. Mr. P. A. NCDM 2011
A National Conference on Data Mining was organized on 19th & 20th February 2011. Around 30 participants from various institutions an dcolleges in India presented their papers.
IBM Rational Suite Training Workshop
On 7th , 8th & 9th March 2011, a training workshop was organized on IBM Rational suite. Mr. Amit Dhariwal trained the faculties on these tools.
Pre Placement Training
AIMS aim at sharpening the skills of the students for success in placement tests, interviews, group discussions, exposure to real world expections, jargons used, resume building, etc. A 7-day packaged program delivered by industry experts and participating senior managers was conducted from 7th to 12th March 2011.
SPSS Workshop
On 16th & 17th March 2011, a workshop was organized on SPSS. The trainer was Mr. Pratap, SPSS, Bangaluru.
Felicitation of Dr. Deepali Sawai on 1st August 2011
AIMS is a recognized research centre of University of Pune. In order to motivate the faculties as well as the students to undertake the research leading to excellence in their respective areas of interest, a felicitation programme of the first student who was conferred Ph.d. degree by the University of Pune; was organized. Dr. Deepali Sawai shared her experience as well as the challenges she faced and in which way she accepted and exterminated the same. The participants were inspired to pursue Ph.d.
MBA Induction Programme on 8th August 2011
An Induction Programme was organized for the students of MBA I. Mr. Anant Sardeshmukh, DG, MCCIA was the Chief Guest for the event. Initially the students were greeted. There was an Ice Breaking Session followed by introduction by Faculties. Students were introduced to the system. They were taken to a round of MCE Society's Azam Campus. This was followed by management games. Inspirational thoughts, provoking dialogues were established to inflame them to discover the diamond in them.
Inauguration of VAT
Value Added Training Programme was inaugurated & organized on 16th August 2011. Students were allotted relevant current topics. They prepared and presented the topic followed by Question-Answer session. The main objective is to propel the pupil to perform excellent.
Seminar on Introduction to EBSCO & British Library on 24th August 2011
AIMS is equipped with EBSCO software. It consists of 2000 e-journal. In fact, it is a complete business resource. Mr. Vishal Verma, Business Manager, EBSCO-Western region took a small workshop.
AIMS has an Institutional membership of British Council Library. Mr. Mazoom Raza, Marketing Manager, illustrated the various facilities provided by British Council. The main purpose in organizing this activity was to empower students, unleash their potential and build a knowledge bank in them.
HR Forum Meet
AIMS sponsored a HR Forum Meet of MCCIA-NIPM-ISTD. A panel discussion was held on the topic "Job sculpting-Matching Job Profile to Life Interest". Prof. R. Ganesan, Director, AIMS led & piloted the panel discussion.
HR-The Champion for Innovation to Happen
NIPM-Western Region in collaboration with Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai arranged a regional conference for two days on 26th & 27th August.. 4 faculties & 12 students participated in the conference. The main & major focus was on innovation & its influential impact on tomorrow.
Ascent HRM Congress, Bangalore - 02.09.2011- 03.09.2011
An International HR Meet was organized on 2nd & 3rd of September 2011at Bangalore. Eminent professionals, Industrialists, academicians, consultants, and researchers participated, presented and discerned current and the emerging practices in the HR management. A group of 9 students and 5 faculties were deputed for this programme. The result yielded was that the participants from AIMS (faculties as well as students) had an in-depth insight regarding current and emerging trends.
Value Journey Workshop
Value Journey Workshop was organized by Mr. Edward Peter Ernst on 13th September 2011 emphasized on the parameters such as lifestyle, inner development, self-expression, mastery, relationship, tradition & intrinsic values. The workshop led to introspection with focus on self awareness.
Centre of Excellence
Inauguration on 14th September 2011 of COE for Unani Medical & Physiotherapy students from Azam Campus to propel them for performing excellent was organized. Mr. Peter Ernst was the chief Guest. Faculties of AIMS coached & mentored the students. The participants were inspired and took part enthusiastically.
